Dr. Nelson provides all aspects of patient care including IVF, IUI, minimally invasive surgery and medical management of reproductive endocrine disorders.  She has been recognized as a “Super Doctor” by Arizona magazine, and in 2011, U.S. News and World Report named her one of the Nation’s Top Reproductive Endocrinologists.​

Dr. Nelson has been actively involved in teaching medical students and residents throughout her career.  Prior to moving to Scottsdale in 2010, she was a faculty member and IVF program director at the University of Illinois and at the University of Kansas Medical Center.  She is currently a Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix and the Director of the Reproduction and Life Span Curriculum.  She also provides training for the residents in the PRIOG program at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.  Dr. Nelson received her Ph.D. in Psychology from UCLA.  Her research included the effects of prenatal stress on adduct physiology and behavior.  She then obtained her M.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and returned to UCLA for her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency.  Her Reproductive Endocrinology Fellowship was at UCSG where she continued her research for an additional 2 years with an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship.​
